Why use a WRP tour package?
For two decades WRP Tours have been providing tour packages designed to eliminate all worries and concerns for both the runner and their accompanying supporters.
In 2011 the aim, as previously, will be:
“…. to provide each and every one of our guests, both runners and spectators, with a comprehensive,
value for money and hassle-free weekend”.
All WRP marathon packages include...
- Accommodation in 4*, award winning, Central London hotels with full breakfast
- A minimum of 2 marathon experienced WRP staff in every hotel from Friday – Monday
- Travel either independently - or by WRP coaches from the South West.
- If required, guaranteed, secure and discounted underground parking at two of the hotels
- Discounted hotel bar and restaurant meals throughout your stay
- Early marathon buffet breakfast
- Coach to the start at Blackheath for runners and all spectators
- Couriered spectator transfer service back from Blackheath after the start into Central London
- WRP advice point at 24 Miles and on-course facilities at Tower Bridge
- Post-race showers, massages, light refreshments plus the showing of a video of the televised race coverage
- Late room check-out until 18.00 hours is available at all the Novotels - charges may apply
- From the moment you book, WRP offer a free marathon advice line for their guests
Plus...On Friday
- Walking tour of Greenwich and the Start… with the opportunity to talk with our marathon staff
- Following the walk: WRP escort to race registration and marathon Expo at the ExCeL Centre
- Meet your WRP hotel staff team; take advantage to seek advice on a one-to-one basis
- Opportunity to take in a show … and enjoy a good night’s sleep two nights before the race
On Saturday
- Tours of the Finish area and practical advice on spectating the race (at both 10.00 & 12.00 hours)
- Pre-race Advice Clinics at your hotel (at 17.00 hours)
- Optional special WRP in-house evening buffet meal
- Relax by going to see a show in the afternoon – or do some sightseeing… or just chill out!
On Sunday
- Avoid the long journey home when you are feeling tired and sore!
- Staying creates sufficient time to go to see your charity team after the race. Then, back at your hotel, relax in the bath in your own room (and a little doze?) before joining in a post-race celebration. Enjoy a relaxed evening with a quiet celebratory drink and nice meal, swap experiences with other runners (the wearing of your finishers medal is taken for granted) before a good night’s sleep
- On Monday, well rested, enjoy a leisurely breakfast. Your room is available until noon (though hotel luggage storage is available all day) and if you pre-booked parking via WRP then you can leave your car until 23.59 hours allowing some gentle sightseeing/shopping – then home in triumph!
Add to this all of the pre-event support and advice offered to all guests but particularly invaluable to first-time runners. Is it surprising that year after year the official race charity – and now over 50 others, recommend the services of WRP Tours to all their runners.
If they trust WRP then so too can you!
“Just a quick e-mail to say a big “thank you” for the great service you supply to London Marathon runners and their family and friends. You make what could be a stressful weekend a lot less stressful with your experienced team of staff answering those probably simple question (to your staff) that go round and round in your head and do stress you out on the big day…!
Our hotel was perfect, the car parking spot-on and the food great… and your coach service to the start of the marathon was just brilliant – so much better than taking the tube or the rail.
I really do wish that we had known about WRP when I did my previous two marathons! A big thanks to the whole WRP team - both in the office and the hotel. |
