Which Hotel?
For 2010 WRP have secured accommodation in 6 hotels in London. All are of 4* grade and in the Novotel chain – a hugely popular and world-wide brand. They have been selected as “Hotel Group of the year” and all hold service awards of distinction. Five of the hotels have been used for a number of years and this year we are delighted to be also able to offer the brand new and superb Novotel Paddington – complete with swimming pool.
The tour package
The marathon tour package offered by WRP is exactly the same in each hotel, so all those booking reasonably early can choose freely based upon which is the more convenient. If coming by car then two of the hotels have secure and guaranteed on-site parking at heavily discounted rates. If coming by rail or air… and either arriving later Saturday or leaving after the race on Sunday, please consider the ease of access to/ from your terminal in London.
We have provided a plan showing the relationship between our hotels and key stations/ lines on the Underground but, should this still leave you with questions as to which one or two might be better for yourself, then simply call the office and we will talk you through it.
Even more value from WRP
If you look at the price list then it should quickly become apparent that staying for two or three nights becomes far better value. The reason is simple; any room sold only for just 1 night leaves the hotel with the problem of finding another client for just the Friday or just the Sunday night. Taking a one night booking can leave the other night/s empty – so they lose money!
All London hotels set a premium (higher price) on one night bookings and, more importantly, strictly limit the number that we can sell. In sharp contrast a third night (including full breakfast) is always available and can be had for as little as £39 per head!
If you book sufficiently early then the choice of hotel should present no problem. However, guests who leave their booking until a few weeks before departure may find that their first and second choice hotels are already full and may have to accept that there is little or no choice left – assuming rooms are still available anywhere!

Prices
Whilst there are variations between hotels on the price charged per night (invariably based upon location) ALL hotels offer better rates for 2 night stays and the best rates of 3 night stays.
N.B. Should you be interested in a stay of more than 3 nights call the office for the rate for that extra night. The best price for this is always Novotel London West – our main tour hotel.
Children
There is no charge for accommodation - “kids do go free”. The charge of £23 for those aged 4-14 yrs is to cover the costs on Sunday of their coach seats to – and back from, the Start and their post race refreshments.
Restaurant and bar
All have excellent restaurants open daily from 06.00 until midnight. All bars also offer good value-for money bar-food beverages and snacks throughout the day as an alternative.
WRP 10% Discount Voucher
Each hotel offers WRP guests a 10% discount off all food and drink (though not drink on its own) consumed in either the hotel restaurant or hotel bar at any time during your stay. The vouchers are inter-changeable and so can be used in any of the 6 Novotels that we are using in London on marathon weekend. The discount does NOT apply to mini-bar or room service purchases or the WRP evening buffet on Saturday evening. An initial supply will be included in the “Final Details” pack issued in late February/ early March.
Saturday evening buffet
WRP will again organise an in-house, 2 course buffet (main course, dessert plus tea/coffee) which will be served in the restaurant / banqueting suite from 18.00 to 20.30 hrs. The menu in each hotel will be designed to meet both the needs of those running next day as well as those who have come to enjoy a nice meal in a 4* hotel.
Details of the menu will appear on the WRP website in early January and tickets can be ordered on its “Final Orders and Requests” form that WRP will include within “Final Details”. The form allows guests to pre-order vegetarian meals and, if informed in advance, cater for all those with special dietary needs.
All tickets must be pre-booked and pre-paid by the date shown in your pack. WRP has to submit numbers and pre-pay for these meals hence no tickets will be available on marathon weekend.
Sunday afternoon
WRP will be offering complimentary post-race light refreshments in each hotel from 14.30 – 18.30 hrs –e.g. sandwiches, cake, crisps, fruit, a choice of three salads plus tea, coffee and squash.
Sunday evening
The hotels will be offering a celebratory one course buffet plus drink in their restaurants between 19.30 and 21.00 hrs – on condition that all runners are wearing their medal and prepared to share their memories!

Leisure and fitness
All hotels have a fitness centre with a gym, sauna and steam room. Access is complimentary 24 hrs a day. The brand new Novotel Paddington is unique in also having its own swimming pool.
