The weekend programme: Saturday - The evening buffet meal

On Saturday evening you need to ask yourself if, after a busy and tiring day you want the hassle of going out to eat – knowing that you need a guarantee that you will find somewhere to eat, have the correct food ….and still be back in time to have a good night’s sleep!  Quite possibly not!

Equally important to remember is the fact that not all hotels in central London are surrounded by a multitude of eating places whereas all our hotels already have excellent restaurants as well as bar food.

If you do stay in your hotel on Saturday evening then you have two options:

Option A. Join the special WRP meal.
With the numbers involved we have been able to make arrangements for a special buffet that evening – one that will meet the needs of both runners and spectators.
After a tiring day, there is nothing nicer than to return to your room, have a shower, change then go down to the bar for a civilised drink - before going into the meal, knowing that your places are  guaranteed.
Should it happen to be raining on the Saturday evening then it is an even bigger advantage!

Menus and prices:

Contracts with the hotels are negotiated some twelve months ahead of the event and for this reason as we launch the website for the 2011 tour it is impossible to give precise details of the menu to be offered in each hotel.

What we can say is that:

Please note – as previously - the buffet meal has to be pre-booked.  Please also note - that the final date for booking this meal is March 14th. No WRP meal tickets are available on the day.
* Children aged 14 years or younger can have the same meal at a much lower price.

Novotel Restaurant

Will you need a Vegetarian or “Special” meal to meet dietary needs?
Neither is a problem provided that this is indicated on the appropriate booking form by no later than 14th March. If the request is to meet a special medical dietary need (e.g. diabetic, wheat intolerant etc.) we ask that you write these requirements on a separate sheet and attach it either to your initial booking form of to your “Late requests/orders” form in March.
We then pass those details on the hotel kitchen concerned who will cater accordingly.

Need a high chair during the weekend?
As with cots, each hotel has a small number of their own but last year demand exceeded supply so this year we are asking that you pre-request this item. If necessary, the hotels can then hire-in additional chairs or cots to ensure that there is the requisite number. Your name will be put on the item so that it becomes “your” chair over the weekend.

Option B. Saturday evening - eating independently in the hotel restaurant.

WRP have negotiated a deal for guests whereby they can obtain a 10% discount on all lunch and dinner meals eaten in the both the hotel restaurant and bar during their stay.  WRP will issue some discount vouchers along with “Final Details” before you arrive and unlimited additional supplies will be available with your tickets upon arrival at the hotel.

If the menu for the WRP meal does not suit your needs then selecting from the ‘a la carte’ menu in the hotel restaurant – or the excellent bar food may be better suited to you. In this instance the discount voucher can be used

However, please be advised that Novotels London West and Paddington are the only hotels where there is a separate banqueting suite leaving the main hotel restaurant available for other guests.
In the other hotels, do expect the restaurants to be either very busy or totally full – predominantly with pre-reserved WRP guests.
WRP cannot guarantee you a table at a set time if you are not included within the official WRP meal group.
