The weekend programme: Friday - Going to Race Registration – 2 choices
1. Going independently to the ExCeL Centre in Docklands.
In your “Final details” pack – issued in late February/ early March, WRP will provide detailed instructions of how to get from your hotel directly to race registration using the Underground and the Docklands Light Railway.
2. Going to Race Registration after the WRP Walking Tour of the Start.
If you are going out to East London for the Walking Tour, it does make sense to couple this with completing your Race Regestration at the ExCeL Centre – not just because of their close geographical proximity but also because that is a relatively quiet time not just to do it but also enjoy it.
For those who do not know this area we provide simple instructions of how to get from Greenwich to the ExCel Centre using the Dockland Light Railway (DLR). It usually takes about 30 mins.
However, for those who are a little uncertain, worry not – a number of the WRP staff who will be guiding the Walking Tours will themselves be going over to the ExCeL Centre and you are welcome to travel across with them.
N.B. If you followed our advice and prior to your first Underground or DLR journey you bought a one day Travel Card (Zones 1-4) then this will cover your journey not just to Greenwich buit now over to ExCeL and later back to your hotel. They do represent good value for money if bought after 09.30 in the morning.
Marathon Registration
Completing marathon registration on the Friday afternoon is easy and relaxed – very different than on Satrurday when, inevitably, it is very, very crowded. If you are running for a charity then Friday is an ideal time to meet up with them at their stand and sort out any detailed arrangements they may have about cheering points or post-race activities.

Friday 5.00 – 7.00 Novotel ExCeL – opposite marathon Registration
Just 100m from ExzCel lies Novotel ExCeL, one of our superb Novotel hotels. Post walking tour a number of the WRP guides will be joining John Joyner, Director of WRP Tours, in the bar on 1st floor – and, weather permitting on the superb balcony. You are invited to come and join us before we split and return to our respective hotels.

Returning to your hotel from ExCeL
Every guest will receive a set of our “Final Details” written specifically for each hotel. In yours will be a simple set of guidance notes of how to return to you hotel from the ExCeL Centre.. It will also give an idea of the time this will take.
